Ladue alum Tom Ostertag is a Broadcast Engineer at KMOV4 News in St. Louis, MO.
Tom is the mastermind working behind the scenes to make sure the control room, live remotes, cameras, and all things technical are working, in place, and available for news reporters to do their jobs properly so the station is a success. On this episode, Tom goes into detail explaining how remote broadcasting is occurring during the coronavirus pandemic. Tom also talks about the inner workings of a large-scale television production, such as the local 4th of July and Thanksgiving Day parades. Plus, Tom is an avid collector of broadcast technology dating back into the 1960s, 70s, and 80s, and he shows us his home studio and film room. Tom's home is also not your traditional house, but you'll have to watch this show to hear about and see the unique living accommodations for Tom and his family.
