Steve Douglass grew up in St. Louis and now teaches New Media at Lake Forest High School. Steve truly wants to help students tell stories beyond his classroom, so he created showNtellmystory, an App that helps students tell their personal story. On this episode, Steve and I discuss a fabulous free, summer-intensive program for students to join St. Louis Summer Stories. Born out of the idea in Chicago the past two years, Summer Stories has now branched out to St. Louis. We looking for rising high school seniors to apply for this is incredible opportunity to work directly with peers from different parts of our city, alongside members of the team from WeMakeMovies, by using the latest in Apple technologies, to tell essential stories that represent the St. Louis community. Steve shared that this program allows every student to learn to tell their story visually, not only because it will be an essential skill going forward, but it's an important self-reflection tool that helps everyone see the relevance and context of their learning.
