Al Tompkins is one of America's most requested broadcast journalism, multimedia teachers, and coaches, so I'm thrilled to bring his expertise to students and educators everywhere. Al discusses the ethics behind any story we consume in the news, especially during the coronavirus pandemic and shares his insight on a story circulating through all of media, recorded from inside a New York hospital. In addition, Al talked about ways high student journalists are using their fact-checking skills right now to create videos and inform the public through the Instagram platform @MediaWise. Plus, Al and I talked about a plethora of ways our student journalists can cover stories while we are bound at home during the COVID-19 crisis.

What a great opportunity for your students to learn from Al Tompkins himself! He is one of the best journalists in the industry. We were lucky enough that our university was able to secure him as part of our speakers on one of our events. It was fun listening to him talk about how he started because it made me feel motivated and inspired to continue with my chosen career. He emphasized how it is not always going to be easy because you will be faced with a lot of rejections, but with hardwork, passion, and drive, there is nothing that we cannot achieve.
